Each chapter (a story) consists of (1) a story with some words, perhaps 7% or so, in bold, (2) a chapter Summary (in German), (3) a chapter Summary (in English), (4) a Vocabulary list (of the words in bold), (5) some multiple choice Questions about the story and (6) Answers to the questions.The vocabulary is indeed intermediate level or higher. My guess (based on the first 20 words in the Chapter 1 vocabulary list of about 150 words) is that more than half of the words in the vocabulary list are not in my book titled 2,001 Most Useful German Words. That’s wonderful if you're at a higher German level but, if you're like me, this book is very difficult because the stories are LONG and contain LOTS of words in bold (about 150 of them are in the roughly 2,000 word chapter 1) which are in the vocabulary list many pages further on, making a word in bold hard to find in the vocabulary list. Also, I did not know many of the words not in bold.The first story was very interesting and well written although it was very difficult for me because this book just does not seem to have enough word repetition within each chapter (remember: “repetition is the mother of learning”). Most words are used once. Also, the title of Chapter 1 (Schlüsselerlebnis) was not in the vocabulary list and was not translated in the English Summary of he story.But, this book should be very useful for high-intermediate or advanced students who know most of the words in the story. It is super challenging for a beginner or low-intermediate person like myself
